Listservs are a great way to stay in touch with people
who are interested in similar topics of research, and to stay
absolutely current with what's going on in a field.
They can also be a great way to ask for help solving problems,
hunt out new lines of inquiry, and to test theories and ideas.
HRES hopes to soon host its own Listserv to cover Hudson River
Topics. We will announce the HRES Listserv just as soon as it
is ready. In the meanwhile, there are other listservs of interest
listed below.
In most cases, use the links below to write an email from your
preferred email address. The subject line should read "subscribe"
(without the parentheses) and the text of the email should read:
Subscribe
Your email address
Other Listservs (such
as EPA) will have you send a blank email (with no text) to the
listserv to subscribe, and another blank email to a different
address to unsubscribe.
| NB - Many
Listservs have their own policies regarding subscribing and
unsubscibing. When in doubt refer to the listserv's information
page, or check the subscription confirmation for details. |
Once subscribed to a listserv, you will recieve regular emails*
from on the various discussions which you can read and reply to.
| *Frequency of messages from Listservs is
dependent on the way the Listserv is maintained and the volume
of traffic it recieves. Email frequency varies from daily
to monthly dependent on these and other factors. |
If you know of a Listserv which is not on this
list but should be, let
us know
