Bulletin: New Aliens in the Hudson
Chinese mitten crabs (Eriocheir sinensis) were first discovered in the Hudson River in 2007. This new alien species from China is thought to come in ship ballast. Until now only juveniles have been found. We report here for the first time two gravid females found at Pier 40, in Hudson River Park, by The River Project.
